CLIMBERS LEAVE FOR INDIA

The Tibetan Government having sanctioned the forthcoming Everest expedition, General Bruce has left for India to make the initial preparations, and especially to organise a- corps of Himalayan porters at Darjeeling. There will be six climbers in the ex-pedition—Lieutenant-Colonel Strutt, Major Norton, Dr. Wakefield, and Messrs. Mollory. Finch, and Somervell, all firstciass mountaineers. Dr. Lonsrstaff ' will iict as surgeon to the expedition", and Major Noel will be the photographer. The party will reach the base early in May, co that the final assault can be made at the beginning of June, -when Mount Everest is'most vulnerable.
