The manhood suffrage question, which during last session of the Diet was artiflcally manoeuvred by the Opposition in order to embarrass the Government, is now becoming a really popular movement, and is getting beyond the control of the politicians. Yesterday crowds aggregating 200,000 held suffrage demonstrations in Tokio, Yokohama, Osaka, Kobe, and Kyoto, and heated demands for tho vote were voiced.
