HUTT VALLEY FLOWER SHOW

THE PRIZE LIST.

The Hutt "Valley Horticultural Society's sweet pea" and carnation show was concluded last evening. The award for the champion sweet pea bloom in the show went to Mr. J. J. Reich for a very fine exhibit of "Doris," a beautiful pale cerise bloom, while the championship for carnations was given to Mr. A. J. Jackson, of Brooklyn, for the bloom "Cleopatra," a most perfect specimen. Mr. Henry Poole, whose splendid collection of begonias, coleus, palms, and other pot plants *vas a centre of attraction, was awarded the E.H.S. silver medal. The R.H.S. bronze medal was awarded to Mrs. J. J. Reich for her display of cut flowers. It was mentioned yesterday that Mr. A. M'Millan was showing a fine range of hydrangeas. Mr. M*Millan had several blooms of this magnificent flower, but the large range of colours should have been credited to Colonel J. R. Purdy.
