The council of the Miners' Federation has issued a manifesto stating that an early effort will be made to secure the six-hours day and the five-daya week, the abolition of the contract system, a fortnight's holiday on, full pay eaoh year, an effective voice in the executive control of the industry, and a number of other sweeping demands, with nationalisation as the final objective.
