DOMINION TOURNAMENT
MNKS CHAMPIONSHIP.
(II HMOKAf*.—PKIII ASSOCIATION.)
DUNEDIN, 16th January. Steady rain all day and night on Sunday necessitated a postponement of play in the rinks tournament till this afternoon. To-day, however, the weather was beautiful, and by reducing the number of heads from 25 to 21, and setting a time limit of two hours and threequarters, the first two rounds were completed according to programme. Following is a summary of the play:—
Section A.—Hedges and Parsons, two wins each; Easton, Harrison, Tilburn, Bremner, Brackenridge, Ardell, one win, one loss; Kelleher, Langley, two losses.
Section B.—Tonkin, Watts, Kerr, Ham, two wins each; Henaghan, Foster, one win, one loss; M'Curdy, Noble, Adams, Dee, Herd, two losses.
Section C.—Cooke, Hutchison, two wins; Pryde, West, Strang, Smith, Doherty, Edwards, one win, one loss; Pavitt, Claridge, two losses.
Section D.—Starjc, Lindsay, two wins; Cormack, Stuart, Piercy, Thorn, Richards, Ure, one winj one loss; Hunter, Frobath, two losses.
Section E. —Abbott, Payne, two wins; Tutt, Robertson, Tretheway, Benzie, Hosking, M'Ewan, one win, one loss; Taylor, Brown, two losses.
Section F.—Cox, Thomson, two wins; Munro,' Naylor, Wilkinson, Blackwoocl, Smeaton, Crane, Dobbs, one wid^ one loss; Sands ton, two losses.
Section G.—Maddison, Piper, Broad, two wins; M'Leod, Spiller, Pretersen,Bragg, one win, one loss; Campbell, Efford, O'Hagan, two losses.
Section H. —Henley, Benefield, Firman, two wins; Burson, Waddell, Scott, Jacobscn, one win, one loss; Hayward, Needham, Harraway, two losses. Section I.—Coltman, Carswell, two wins; Chegwin, Scott, Harvey, Balk, Gower, Wylie, one win, one loss; Gillies, Srnnmerfield, two losses.
