Wellington's second match in the Plunket Shield series is to bo commenced at the Basin Reserve to-morrow, against Otago.'.. With the weather conditions now/more settled, there is «v«ry prospect of bright batting, and good, scoring should be recorded on a wicket which is in excellent ord«r. The visitors have already met Canterbury and Auck-. land, and will be benefited by those matches. For Wellington's first Shield ma,tch conditions were most unfavourable, except on the concluding day, andi the chance should, come to-morrow and on the succeeding days of play, of seeing the local batsmen at their best.
