[The Canadian Importer was abandon.cd by her crew, off the Washington coast, as she was believed to bo sinking, her seamß having opened. She had a ■cargo of timber on board, howeveir,' and this kopt her from foundering, and some of tho crew returned to her, hoping to get the vessel towed to Vancouver. The steamer Cordova stood by her for some time, but eventually resumed her voyage, further assistance being declined hy the Canadian Impolicy's captain, who expected the Canadian Winner to reach him the next day. The waterlogged -vessel was then lost sight of for some days, and tho keenest anxiety was fait for her safety and that of the men on board. The missing steamer was found by the Canadian Observer a hundred miles from the position where the Cordova had left hoi".]
