AN ANNIVERSARY.

To mark the first anniversary of the inauguration of his Shakespearean Company, Mr. Allan Wilkie entertained the members of his company at a supper at Dustin's after the performance on Saturday evening. Mr. Augustus Neville, on behalf of the performers and the staff, presented Mr. Wilkie and Miss Hunter- , Watts with a handsome illuminated address to mark the occasion, and to testify to the high esteem in which the recipients were held by the members of the company and staff. Mr. Neville, in proposing the toast, "Mr. Wilkie and Miss Hunter-Watts," spoke of the most pleasant relations that existed between them and the members of the company. Mr. Wilkie suitably responded.- By touring for a year in Australasia with Shakespearean1 plays, he said they had achieved something unique in the annals of the Antipodes, and he hoped, to add four more plays to their 'repertoire yearly, so that in seven years they would have presented all Shakespeare's works. That would constitute a world's record.

A lengthy programme of musical and vocal items was afterwards enjoyed.
