PARAMOUNT AND ARTCRAFT.
Crowded houses on Saturday testified to the appeal of "The Faith Healer" at the Paramount and Artcraft Theatres. George Melford, producer, has oast Milton in the title role, a toa/ppy choice. "The Faith Healer" is a devout shepherd who loves a girl with a, past._ His wonderful power brings a pilgrimage of cripples, and when his hour comes he finds that love has interfered with his healing. The disa/ppmntecl people condemn him as a faker and stone him. The girl's big love, and the simple faith of a tiny child, cleanse the healei and he is able to again effect miraculous cures. Dainty Ann Forrest, as the faith-healer's temptation and comfort, and Fontine la Rue as a cripple, give fine performances. Miss Oertrude Burge sings during the screening of the picture "Lead Kindly Light," "Rock of Ages," and other appropriate verses. A New Zealand travel scenic, a four-reel iitai among the pygmies of Darkest Afrioa, and a Gazette complete the fine bill. -
