BILLIARDS
The cup being competed for in the billiard tourney at Messrs. Billiards, Ltd., has an interesting history. When W. N. Tucker some years ago won it outright by securing three successive TyinS", he donated it as a challenge cm/, and since then it has been held by the Ingley family. T. Ingley v/on the first year's event, Roy Ingley followed with two successive wins, and last year Ivan Ingley was the winner. The last-named is playing well in the present tourney. Thursday night's results were as follow : Nicholson 200, beat Souper 97. Ingley 300, best Burd 154. Williams defeated Harvey by 26 points. Renouf won fromBurgess by 29 points. Nicholson 220, beat Holcroft 149. Gilberd 300 defeated Compton 143. The best breaks were:— Ingley 54, 26,- 25; Nicholson, 44, 22; Williams, 30; Harvey, 20; Burgess, 20; Gilberd, 24, 22; Compton, 20.
