MOASCAR CUP
NAPIER HIGH SCHOOL BEATS AGRICULTURAL COLLEGE.
(IT TtMSSKAPH.—PREBS ASSOCIATION.)
NAPIER, 25th August.
The final district match in the Moascar Cup competition was played here to-day between the Napier High School (who had previously defeated PaJmerston North and Napier Technical College) and the Maori Agricultural College (who last week beat Te Aute). The game was remarkably even. The Agricultural College scored 9 points in the first spell (tries by Bain, Ferris, and Nepiu.), and High School got 9 points in the second spell (a penalty .goa.l by Fisher, and tries by M. Benth and Williams). An extra spell of ten minutes was played, in which High School were awarded a try to Hickling for obstruction by. an opponent, and thus won by 12 points to 9. Both sides played good .football, but the winners appeared somewhat stale, • due doubtless to the fact? that this was their third match in six days. The game created much interest, and considerable excitement. At its clo^e the winners were carried shoulder high off the ground. I , The winners will play St.. Patrick's College, Wellington, at Napier, on, Wednesday next.
