The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company reports having received the following cablegram from its London house, dated 24th August ■.—"Tallow: We quote present, spot values for the following descriptions— Fine mutton, £2 8s 6d per cwt; good beef, £2 8s 6d per cwt; mixed, £2 2s 9d per cwt; good demand. 'Frozen Meat: Mutton, 5Jd to B^d per lb; lamb, Is Ijd pe. lb; beef; hindquarters, s£d per lb; forequarters, 3Jd. per lb; market slow."
