NEXT SATURDAY'S MATCHES

At Athletic Park, on Saturday, Marlborough will meet Wellington. The local team is a strong one, whilst tho visitors come with the reputation of being a good combination, both .back and forward. They defeated the Wellington repe. last' year and put up a great fight against the victorious 'New South Wales team, running- the visitors very close. Marlborough are/ winners of the Seddon Shield, and from the quality of their football would appear to have every chance of retaining itjigainst all-comers. The Rugby Uunion has had to make special arrangements to get the visitors here, owing to the lengfh of time they would be absent from Marlborough and the heavy expense; but, as it is the desire of the union to put on the best games possible, arrangements were accordingly made to play tho locaJ representatives against what would appear to bo the strongest combination outside tho metropolitan unions.
