I 'AUCKLAND v. WELLINGTON.
The hookey match between Wellington and Auckland, to be played at the Basin Reserve' on Saturday next.! is expected to be the spectacular fixture of the season. As the touring Auckland team'has so far won all its games and Wellington is also unbeaten in its first-class representative fixtures this season, the match between two.suen strong provinces should be unusually fast and keen. Included '"in the northern |team will be England and Johns, North Island reps., the Alexanders, Grice, and Speight, while Wellington will be represented by clever exponents of the "stick" game in "Ted" Heaphy;'Hood, Stratton, Martin, and a fino combination of full-backs, Harris and Sherwood. On form, Wellington have an excellent chance this year of regaining the coveted Hockey Shield, which Auckland at present holds A curtain-raiser will bo provided by Ramblers •A. and Girl's College, who meet in the final for the ladies' championship.
