In furtherance of its desire to improve commercial relations with Australia, the Italian Government has invited General Ramaciotti to attend the international Sample Fair and the Commercial Conference to be held in September at Trieste, where all the neighbouring States of, Central .and Eastern Europe, using the port as a purchasing and distributing centre, will be represented. A conference at Milan, the centre .of the Italian wool trade, will follow. General Bamacibtti will spend six months in Italy before returning to Australia.
