CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
John Daniels, who was oonvicted at Westporfc of sending- a false .telegram, was brought up for sentence at the Supreme Court this morning.^ Mr. Justice Herdman. said that the ease was not one for leniency, as it was clear that prisoner had made up his mind }o live the life of a criminal. He wae sentenced to two years' hard labour.
