MONTHLY MEETING.
The Wellington Education Board held its monthly meeting to-day, Mr! T. Forsyth presiding. Other members present were: Messrs. R. A. . Wright, E. H. Penny, R. M'Callum, W. T Grundv J. J: Clark, A:-J; White, T. Moss, E. P. Rishworth, C; J. ■ Harkness, and W. H. Field. -i. ••■■',-
. Expression of- thanks for the, erection of an infants',,school ■; was received by letter from the Shannon School Committee. Regarding temporary use of a room for school. purposes, at Karori, 'the' Department notified that it declined to pay the rent.. -. . ;
.Notification was' received that an additional grant of £50 for Garluke educational requirements had been approved. The Education Department, forwarded a decision of the General Council of Education that disestablishment of the Greytown D.H.S. be postponed for one year. Approval of the board's proposal regarding the Mauriceville West School was received from the Department. Advice was received that-the Government had made a grant of £450 for the erection of a temporary school at Mornmgton.
