SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY.
The bi-weekly concert, arranged by the Welsh Choir, under the leadership of Mr. R. M. / Griffiths at the Sailors' Friend Society on Thursday was in every way a great success. The performers were : Mrs. Edwards, the Misses Henderson, Tucker, Passan, and Messrs. T. Jenkins, T. Davis, P. Gordon, Murphy, and White. The Misses Henderson and Passan were at the piano. "The Press Speaks," was the subject of Mr. Moore's chat on temperance. As a result men added their names to the pledge roll. The competitions led to some keen results. The prize came from two "well-wishers," and went to the Ulimaroa and Bad'en Powell.
