Mr. Egerfcon P. Wake, national ajjent of the Labour Party, is resigning from 'the candidacy for Barrow, on the ground of the increasing responsibilities Of his position. He writes : "We anticipate a General Eelection within a few months, for which we are trying to obtain five hundred Labour candidates. We intend to organise the greatest attempt co fa* made to capture political power."
