An inquest was held recently m London'an a man named Loo Major, whoso heart continued to beat eight hours after respiration ceased. , Dr, Turner said the mm was admitted ,to the hospital suffering from drowsiness, stiffness of the muscles of the neck, and headache. Ether ,and' chloroform were administered for a pimple operation for the purpose of diagnosis. It took only halt a minute, but tho man ceased to breatho, although his heart continued to beat well. Artificial respiration was continued till the heartbeating cetecd. Witness agreed with tho C'broner that it was^fl. inont extraordinary case.
