ELECTRIC LIGHT FINANCES
A FURTHER CREDIT BALANCE. The accounts of the City Electric Lighting Department for the month of July again show a credit balance, tht credit being £343, as against a- debit for the corresponding four weeks of last year of £627. The not improvement is therefore £970. The number of units sold increased from 756.518 to 790,334, and the revenue rose from £12,049 to £13,154. Working expenses were £96 heavier than July, 1920. For the four months from Ist April to 31st July the following results are shown, the figures for last yeai being in brackets:—Revenue, £47,073 (£40,531) ; working expenses, £38,531 (£31,365); capital charges; £5820 (£5664); credit balance, £2722 (£3502); units sold, 2,786,321 (2,476,4251.
