JASCHA HEIFETZ.

The first concert of the series to be given by Jascha Heifetz, who is described as the world's greatest violinist, will be given in the Town Hall to-mor-row evening, and, judging by the advance booking, the youthful virtuoso will receive a hearty welcome. Outside of musical circles there may be many people who do not realise the'compliment paid to this country by, the visit of Jascha Heifetz, who stands to-day pre-eminent as a violinist, and it must be recognised as a great achievement on the part of Messrs. J. and N. Tait to have secured an artist whom entrepeneurs in every part of the globe are endeavouring to write a contract with, and then at his own figure. Heifetz is only appearing in Auckland and Wellington, and the concerts just concluded in the Northern city will remain as records for many years to come; the big Town Hall was packed nightly, and hundreds were turned away, and at the close of each concert the audience would only leave the hall after the lights had been turned down. The dates of the Wellington concerts are tomorrow night, Monday, 22nd, and Thursday, 25th, and the box plans are now open at the Bristol Piano Co. Musical students and scholars from schools and colleges are appreciating the concessions offered by J. and N. Tait, and to-morrow morning five shilling day sale tickets for unreserved seats will be on sale at Ned Perry's.
