August 16—Echo, ausdliary schooner (noor\ 93 tons, Nelson, from Blenheim August 16-Kennedy, a.s. (2.3 p.m.), 242 tone, Stuart, from Foxton MARAMA ARRIVES FROM SAN FRANCISCO. . The Union Company* R.M.S. Marama arrived in the stream at Wellington at 845 o clock this morning from San Francisco via Papeete and Rarotonga, and berthed at' 11 ■ ?- m- o at ille 9 ueen's Wharf. The Marama left San Francisco on the 25th July. ES E wind and moderate seas were met with until two days of Papeete, when strong winds and moderate to rough seas with thick imisty weather were encountered. The voyage was continued from Papeete on the 6th August with ■ moderate S.t. trades, which held till Karotonga was reached two days later. Light SE winds were blowing when the Maraiua cleared fTO'onea on the last stage of the journey' to Wellington. A moderate southerly swell w^? running for the remainder of the voyage.
