BROWN BREAD. To the Editor. Sir, —How grateful we ought to be to Dr. E. H.. Wilson for his gratuitous and far-reaching advice as to the eating, of brown bread. If his diagnosis is correct and adopted, tho services of the medical profession would be reduced to a minimum, and they would have to rely upon accidents and epidemics for a livelihood. ■ As to the alcoholic degeneracy, which has kept tho medical profession fairly employed, he remains silent. Most of tho animals ho deals with are for edible purposes, and their "unsavoury" diet is loathed by mankind, though tHe flesh of those animals is useful in some instances. Animals are devoid of worry, unless pursued, or when fat for marketable _purposes, and they neither smoke nor indulge in alcoholic beverages, and retreat at dusk, and, even without those luxuries, they are not noted for longevity or intelligence.—l am. etc., . .> ' COMMON-SENSE.
