ANNUAL REPORT, The forty4rst annual report to be submitted to the annual meeting of members of the Manawatu. Racing Club States: — ■ . " Our totattsator receipts amounted to £287,536, being a considerable increase on the previous year. Under receipts of all headings we show very satisfactory increases. The total given in stakes was £17,650, being an increase of £5475 on the previous year, and making an average of £3530 per day. After allowing for necessary depreciation, our balance to credit of profit and loss" account is £6627 8s 3d, lesr £3775 10s 3d" refunded from previously paid income tax, leaving a net balance of £2851 18s. "In regard to the depreciation, we have written £500 off the totaiisator syndicate account, and £500 off the railway account, as it is the intention of the Government when the deviation is completed, to do away with tho railway siding. The totaiisator house and outside stand having, been demolished, these have been written off. The total amount of taxation paid this year is £14,450 0s 9d. The Government is now claming our mpney from fractions, also, the money from unclaimed tickets in the tolalisator account."Scheme plans were drawn and detailed plans executed for a new totnlisator house on the lawn, and Wiother totaiisator house on the outside lawn. Both houses will be worked by the new electric totaiisator. The old totaiisator house had to be -removed, also the old outside stand. These buildings were done in any case. The saddling paddock is being enlarged considerably, and accommodation for the parkins of motor-car* is being provided. ' Other necessary improvements are being executed, which will run into a considerable sum of money. 1' ; .
