PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA.

The overture to "Wagner's "Flying Dutchman " was the principal iteiji in the concert given by the Professional Orchestra in His Majesty's Theatre last night. The overture ie one which makes great demands upon all instruments, and to attempt it an orchestra must have attained a high standard. Under Mr. H. Moschini the orchestra gave an excellent interpretation. Another great composition which was well played was Beethoven'a " Pastoral Symphony." Two movements were selected—" The Gathering of the Country l^olk " and " The Storm." Apart from these great compositions, the concert included such evorwelcomo numbers as Schubert's ".Rosamunde" overture and Hosmer's " Ohineso Wedding Procession." There was also a Grieg march, "Liguard Jorsalfar," and " Aubade Printaniere" (Lacombe). At usual, the audience was numerous
