SATURDAY'S GAMES
The senior competition was continued on Saturday, Petone meeting Central, and Athletic playing City. In the former match, played at Newtowhl Park, the suburban team was not -at full •strength, but little difficulty was experienced in accounting for the opposition. Tries for the winners were obtained by Zimmerman, Childs, R. Shanahan (2), Haddock,' Tetley, and F. Nnnn. H. Nunn converted four tries. Ryan scored a try for Central. The final score was: Petone,-29; Central, 3. In the other senior game, played at Emerson-street, Athletic defeated City by 18 points to 3. THIRD GRADE. Athletic defeated Central by 11 points to 6.' PETONE v. KAIAPOI. A Press Association message from Christchurch states that the junior League match, Petone v. Kaiapoi,* resulted in a win for the home team by 18 points to 16.
