SYNOPSIS OF LAST 48 HOURS.
A westerly s.torm area passed in the South during Saturday night, and strong and squally westerly winds brought heavy rain in districts with a westerly aspect. Conditions improved in many parts on Sunday, but the wind has since changed to southerly, and scattered rainfall was reported this morning, with snow on much of the high country in tile South Island.
