Passengers to New Zealand by the Rimutaka, due to sail, on 7th .July, will include" the Bishop of Dunedin, accompanied by Mrs. Richards and .their two daughters, and Miss Simpson., . The. Bishop has lately visited Mirfield, Birmingham, and Liverpool, also the Colleges at Gheshuut and St. Augustine°s, Canterbury; He has been preaching and addressing meetings in various places, speaking chiefly about' Church 4ife and work in New Zealand. .At St.' Faith's, Liverpool,'there was a specially interesting gathering' in the schoolroom at which the churchwardens' offered a collection to go toward a chapel at his Episcopacy in Dunedin. „. . ,■• .- ■ At St. Augustine's, Canterbury; there ihas lately been a great deal of excavation going on, and below 4 the large Norman Church the have coma acroar the remains of the'church which was begun by St. Augustine and King Ethelbort in 598 A.D. and.completed,in 613. The warden at the college gave the Bishop one^of theVßoman tiles from this church, and it is his, intention to take this with him to New Zealand, and to have it placed in the Dunedin Cathedral; for it.is, of course, of great historic interest, and it will ,serye as a link between, the past and..the present. Last week Bishop Richards was in London for ,the meetings oftho Central Board of Missions. He was able, too, to put in about a week'at Clifton College, Bristol, where {his son 'is one of the staff. There, as well as at Oxfordjihe took the opportunity of discussing 'matters in connection with education, for this is a subject of much importance, and it'will be further' l developed by a visit to Rugby, where'the Bishop will meet Dr. David", the headmaster.- As the ultimate outcome, he naturally hopes that something will be.done to promote .educa-. tional development in New Zealand. ' Engagements for the immediate future include a meeting at "Berry Pomeroy, where he will speak, and at Tavistock, where ho will preach on behalf of th« S.P.C.K. : ;

Anothet purpose of. the Bishop, of course, during, his travels has been to meet men who may be . suitable for Church work in the Dominion. He'says, that he has.come across several excellent men, who would be quite ready ■to go out, but the difficulty is one entirely of funds, and until money is available it will not be possible to get'men who are vision for them, ' .

While Bishop Richards has been travelling' about England, Mrs. Richards has been making her headquarters with her sister at Portishead, and she has also been visiting friends at Tavistock. The Misses Richards have been a good deal in' London and at Tnnbridge Wells, while' Miss Simpson has been dividing her time between Portishead and .London. They will "all meet next week preparatory to their departure.,
