"PAOLO AND FRANCESA."
The poetic drama, "Paolo and Francesca," by Stephen Phillips, will b» presented for the first time in Wellington at the Town Hall Concert Chamber on 23rd, 24th, and 25th August, under the direction of Miss Hardinge Maltby. The play, which is: taken from Dante's famous poem, is described as being exquisite poetry and powerful drama. The quaint and beautiful costumes of the period have been designed by Miss Ethel Kirk, and a good cast of local players has been selected. Miss Maltby will portray Lucretzia ; Miss Linda 'M'lntyre, Francesea; Mr. Theodore • Trezise, Paolo; and Mr. Paul Latham; Giovanni. The box plans for the season will be opened at the Bristol on Tuesday. 6th Auguat.
