REPRESENTATIVES CHOSEN.
The final "try-out" of the boys chosen from the Hutt and city schools took' place yesterday afternoon at the Lower Hutt Recreation Ground. The selectors have found some difficulty iv choosing both forwards and backs—in the former case because there was so much good material' offering, while in the case of the backs the difficulty was the dearth of good wingers. A very promising team has, however, been got together, and with the training to be given during the next fortnight it should be in. go6d shape to meet Manawatu, Wairarapa, and Wanganui. The following have been chosen to make the trip to Wanganui:—Barrett (Kilbirnie), Richards (Brooklyn), Turley (Clyde-quay), Nicholl (Terrace), Mahoney (Marist), Cleeland (Petone DIH.S.), Levien (East Hutt), Waitai (Lower Hutt D.H.S.), Fordham', M'Leod, Callaghan (Terrace), Best (Lyall Bay), Teal (East Hutt), Harris (Clyde-quay), Simmonds (South Wellington), Cookson (Terrace), Lambourne (Petone D;H.S.), Cave (Lower Hutt D.H.S.), Do Sousa (Marist), Sundgren (Eastern Hutt). Aq the team leaves for Wanganui on Friday week—in the middle of the term holidays—complete arrangements for the tour are to be -made at, a Management Committee meeting to be held at- the board offices at. 4 o'clock on Tuesday next. It will be necessary for two or three officials tp devote practically the whole of the term holiday to preparing the team and superintending the boys while they are away.
Endeavours are being made to arrange one or two games with college teams during the next week. It is hoped that the first of these games will take place on Wednesday next.
