CLEARING SALE
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report' having conducted a successful clearing sale on account of Mr. James Nicholson, at the farm, Mamtikau, on Wednesday. There was a good attendance of buyers present, and the herd, which consisted of mostly well-bred Jersey grades, and in nice condition, met with a keen demand, and the herd of 60 averaged barring four cull cows, which were sold from £5 to £10) £25 15s per head., The firm quote as follows:—Cows, just calved, £20 to £35 10s; best springing cows, £30 to £40; medium springing cows, £24 to £28 10s; September and October calveTS, £17 10a and £38 10s; cows milked through the winter and due again in March, £16 10s to £23; a^ed ■spring-cart gelding, £26; light gig, fill 10s; yearling heifers, line, £7. On account of outside vendors, dairy cows sold from £B to £2'i 10s.
