' LONDON, 11th August/ In the House of Commons Mr. Ausien Chamberlain moved. the second reading of a Bill authorising the Duchy of Lancaster to realise caipital of £100,000, in order to meet deficits in the Civil list since 1919. Mr. Chamberlain said that during the war His Majea*y wag the most prominent pioneer in economy, and actually succeeded in 1916 in effeoting savings for the benefit of the Exchequer to the extent of £100,000. He had refused to sanction any action involving a charge on public funds, and even suggested a< diminution of ceremoniali which 'the' Government -advised. ' HisV Majesty wag not advisable. Stringent economies were effected, however,', in the Royal: household, and others werre conTtemplated." ' The' Bill pissed its second readingl.
