It is understood in some quarters that it is a reply to the Government proposals. (Received August 12, 9.30 a.m.) j LONDON, 11th August. Mr. Austen Chamberlain has announced that Mr. de Valera's reply to the Government's proposals has been forwarded to Mr. Lloyd George in Paris. ! (Received August 12, noon.) . LONDON, 11th August. : It is understood • that the nature of Mr. de Valera' * reply will not be divulged until Mr. v£loyd George makes an announcement in the House of Com' mons on Monday or Tuesday. The reply j came with unexpected suddenness, fol- ] lowing on Mr. de Valera's/ conference with Mr. Collins. The manner of its coining leads the well-informed circles to take the most hopeful view of its purport. '
