RAILWAY PASSES FOR COMPETITORS.
' Th© -Mimster, of Defence (Sir R. Heaton Rhodes) to-day announced that the Government'had'decided' to issue fire© rail-way passes to all bona fide competitors attending the annual meeting of. the Dominion Rifle Association. The association was being asked to assist the Government in the exercise of the strictest economy by ensuring that only bonai fide competitors' ;m several; 'matches should receive.the. free passes. It was not. desired" tliat persons who were n«itber good shots or amxious to promote the interests of rifle-shooting should be' abler to obtain a free pass costing several pounds, merely by paying a few shillings entrance moneys
