BRIGHTER TONE IN THE BUTTER MARKT.

The price of butter is firm, and there is a good demand for Australian and New Zealand. It is. expected that the Government will raise the price to-morrow by about 5s per cwit. Eree Australian butter, ex Ormonde and Kent, is selling 1 at about a parity with Government butter. The quality and condition of this butter are good. 'Cheese ia slightly easier. New Zealand : White 132s to 138s, coloured 132s to 134 a; Australian, white 124fcto 128s, coloured 120s to 1265, '
So_ far as The Post can ascertain, nothing farther has been, received from London relative to the cheese market than the fact published yesterday : buying of outputs has stopped for the present. Only as late as Wednesday sales of cheese outputs were made in Southland at ll^d per lb. SelleTs in the South Island aro reported as keen to accept that price. There are no buyers in the pieantime.
