CRIMINAL SESSIONS
The hearing of evidenoe in eapport of. the charges of conspiracy to defraud, liid against Andrew Giijson Taylor, extimefceeper in tiie employ of the cargo' department of the Union. Steam Ship Company, is being continued at tfacv Supreme Oourt to-day by Mr. Justice Reed and a jury of twelve, of which Mr. A. L. Tenis is foreman. ' It is alleged' that Tav*or took adivantage of hia pogition as timekeeper to falsify Tecorda, showing the hours worked by,members of cargo gangs by the entering up of four fictitioue names and false hours of work. The case is, in the main, similar to that alleged ! against Churchill a nd CWsfeolm, who were acquitted of the chajgies of fraud laid against/them, except'that their work ! had to do solely with coal ; workers while Taylor was a timekeeper in the cargo department. It is alleged that | the company was defraudled of £154 odd as a result of Taylor's practices: ■Th« evidence called by Mr." P. S. K.
