MAGISTRATE'S COURT
; Four first offenders on charges of; drunkenness; were dealt with in .the .usual way at the Magistrate's Court, this morning. Mr. F. X,. Hunt, S.M., was on the Bench. Herbert Christopher, who pleaded guilty to being an idle and disorderly person, and that he had no lawful visible means of support, was ordered to come up for sentence when called upon, the Salvation Army authorities having expressed their willingness to take him in hand. ■ ■ ■ , John Joseph Allen pleaded guilty to stealing a. velonr hat, valued at £4 4s, and £4 in money, the property of Harry. Hubbard, and the secoud theft was committed in a house in which he had been given shelter. He was remanded for sentence until 15th August.,
