JASCHA HEIFETZ.
Great vntarest is being taken in the visit to Wellington of the famous violinist, Jascha Hedfetz, who will ' commence his brief season here on Wednesday next, at the Town Hall. One.critic,' commewbing on Uie appearance of Heifetz in Australia, wrote as follows: — "Give this young man four strings stretched on a shallow, .varnished wooden box of curious shape, set in vibrationi by a wisp of hair on a thin stick, and you then know what the violin is, unaltered during the past 300 years." A telegram from Auckland states the violinist's third conceit there last night was most, successful. Every seat was doM' and hundreds were turned away. "There was -an extraordinary demonstration of enthusiasm." The box plans are now open at the Bristol.
