ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
The -weekly meeting of the Wellington Football Association was held last evening at the V.M.C.A. rooms. Mr. W. Auld presided. The Palmerston North Chib asked for a third division team from Wellington to visit Palmerston on Saturday next. It was found impossible to get a representative team by the date mentioned, and 27ih August was suggested as a date for the match. Auckland, telegraphed accepting 3rd September as the date for the Brown Shield match at the Basin Reserve. It was decided to replay-the match Institute A v. South Wellington, third division, as the appointed referee did not turn up on Saturday. The committee agreed, however, that South Wellington should have accepted one of three other referees present. The protest of Marist (Newtown) against Miramar Rangers was held over tffl next meeting. ■vTellington Tramways Chib objected to the transfer of F. Waller to the Waterside Club, as there was a place in the former team for the player in question. It was decided to uphold 4ne Tramways Chib, an*d the transfer was not granted; A complaint was received from the Beforees' Association regarding postponement of fixtures, stating that on Saturday last no notification of games being postponed was received till after midday.
