After a most exciting match at the Oval for Hitch's benefit, Surrey snatched a 75-run victory over Kent. , Sandham made 123 and 95; Ducat, 13 and 97; Howell, 91; Hitch, 71; Woolley, 85 and 57; Seymour, 98. Surrey was left, with' five hours in which to dismiss Kent, which was achieved in the last minute, owing to Lockton taking_ three brilliant catches off his own bowling. (Received August 11, 11 a.m.) LONDON, 10th, August. ■Sandham's scores in his , last three mutches are:—Against Somerset, 209 not out; Notts, 1127 and 86 not out; Kent, l&3and^s. Hirst, who is reappearing for .^Yorkshire, materially assisted in securing a 113 runs victory over Notts. He scored 60 in seventy minutes by bright, faultless cricket.
