CHAIR OF ECONOMICS
A gift was made by the .Macarthy Trustees to Victoria College Council for ,the endowment of a chair of economics. The condition of the gift was that the principal sum should remain in the hands of the Public Trustee till, by accumulation of interest, it amounted to £10,000. At present, so the council was informed last night, there is over £8000 in the fund, and in about two years' time the whole sum will be available.
