LONDON, 10th August. Tillow offered at the sales, amounting to 1687 oasks, all sold, about six shillings advanoe; mutton 48s 6d to 445; beef Sis to 43s 6d; good mixed, 445. The keenest general competition camo from margarine makers, who are taking the fine aorta. Soapboilers are active on the cessation of the ooal strike, which enables them to resume manufacture.
DEMANDS dp MANUFACTURERS.
The Bank of New Zealand has- received the following advice from its London office, .under date 10th inst.:—"Market has advanced 6s per owt. Quotations: — Good mutton and beef, 46s to 48s per' owt. good mixed 465, inferior 37s to 405." •.. • Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the 10th. instant: — - "Tallow: 1700 casks of tallow offered and practioaUy all sold priocs beinjf from 5a to 7s 6d dearer. Fine mutton, 49b; good mixed, 45s 6d to 465; fine beef, 51b; gut, 395." ■ '
