WELLINGTON v. CANTERBURY.
A big afternoon of football is promised for Saturday next, when Canterbury will meet Wellington at the Athletic Park. In view of the Southern team's victory over the Springboks, and its subsequent successes on tour, much interest is being taken:in the mat»h. Applications for seats have 'been .very large, and it has been found necessary to open a plan for further blocks of seats in the stand. Wellington are expected to put up a strong fight against Canterbury, in spite of the fact that'several of the best men are in Dunedin.
The big match will be preceded by two curtain-raisers, a junior representative match between Wellington and Canterbury, and the final of the fifth class competition between Wellington College A and Pet'onel Excellent football should be provided in both matches.
