The Australians did not continue their inI aiin.gs to-day, Armstrong declaring it closed. In their second innings Warwickshire were disposed of for 118. The weather was fine and the. wicket firm after rolling. Bates and Green faced Gregory and. M'Donald, and the first four overs were' maidens. Oft' the first seven overs only six runs were scored. In half a<l hour 22 went up, of which Bates was responsible for 2G. At 27 Armstrong relieved M'Donald. Green wenfcai 31, stumped by Oldfteld. Bates, when Jhifi score was 23, played a yorker on to his. wicket. Quaife partnered 'Gharlesworth, and at 43 M'Donald went on vice Gregory. Off his " first over Armstrong , brilliantly caught Quaife. Chariesworth and Holdsworth carried the total to sixty-three. The 1 half-century took sixty-five* minutes io obtain. Charlesworth was caught by Ryder.
