WELLINGTON CENTRE MEETS

INTER-COLONIAL TESTS.

The Wellington Bosrting Centre's executive met test' night. Mr. M. J. Hodgins presided.

The Nelson Association wrote, suggesting that the Wellington centre should send representatives to visit that districtnext / season, and the invitation was accepted,'- the proposal being /that the visit should be made in the week commencing 21st November. ■ . "

Mr. M. 0: V. Dimock resigned his office as treasurer, ■ and Mr. Morrow was appointed *to the position! It was decided to approve of a remit forwarded by the Wellington Club, to the effect that a series of inter-coloni»l tests between the Dominion and Australia should be held, and that rinks should be selected by the Dominion Bowling Council The remit suggested that rinks should be invited from Australia next year.

.Notice of motion Ws~ given by Mr. Dimock: "That jn the unavoidable absence of the club's delegate the club shall have the power to send another member of the club, who shall \ have the same privileges as the delegate who represents the club." The matter will come up for consideration at the next meeting. Mr, J. Muir's notice of motion, that a standard bowl should be adopted, that a tested one be sent to the English makers, and that they, accept the makers' guarantee that all bowls thereafter supplied to New Zealand are satisfactory, was lost.

Mr. Feeding proposed a , change to the method of.._acoring in pennant matches. He thought the present method of scoring by the ag.gireg.ate unsatisfactory.,' He suggested that the point should be given for a rink win, half-point for a draw, and two pbints • for the aggregate. • . , ; , Ms. Undewvood suggested that the aggregate should be loft out altogether. Ho thought that the- scoring should be on rink wins, losses, and.draws only. Mr. Feilding said that ho was quite prepared to leave out the two points for the aggregate, but he ;Vas of opinion that in the event of a draw the match should go to the side with tho highest aggregate.

The motion was passed after the clause relating to the aggregate had been deleted. No points will,"ae given for the highest aggregate. Mr. Feijding, on behalf of his olub, protested against the present' method of finding the champion rinks, pairs, and singles. He protested) that each club should be allowed to pick its own champion pairs and rinks in ite own way.

Mt. Dimock moved as an amendment that on the day of the champion 'of champions mfitch four substitutes be allowed in the rink, but the substitutes must come from the raim«rs-up, and occupy the same positions as in the runners-up team.

The motion was lost- on the easting vote of the chairman.

Mr.- Underwood moved that in..the olub matches, to ascertain the champion riik and pair, not "more than two substitutes shall be allowed in any- one rink or pair, the second substitute to become a permanent member in the team. The motion wa» carried.

Mr. Dimock's amendment was taken as a. separate motion, and was carried, except that only one substitute i« to be allowed on the day of the champion of champions competition. .. Mr. Und«rwood moved that the Wellington centre levy be based s on a levy of Is per. head. This was the same levy as in rhmedin. fhti motion -was carried. s It was decided to commence the centre tournament on Boxing Day.
