"T/arpjo. numbers of Scots gathered in Die Scottish... Society'srooms, Lower Cuba-street, last Saturday evening; when they enjoyed, to , tho full the okcellent musical, elocutionary, and danco programme provided. The ; following; ■ gave items:—Mrs. Allen, Messrs. M'Kenzie and Keefe, Master Sander, the society's dancers;' and the Pipe ; Band. A feature of the evening's entertainment was a Scottish ediig competition for "members, mider, twelve years of age. This competition in "designed, to .encourage the ntudy of Scottish song .ampin? the juveniles. The juilgo (Mrs.' Scott Allen) awarded the prizes as follow:—O.st, Helen M'Lellan: ("Caller ,Herrin'"); 2nd, D. M'Millan J"Loch Lomond"); 3rd, Madge Currie■■ ('-Comin' Thro' the -Rye").' During the evening' a presentation was made to the Pino,Ba,nd by Mr. Moore, G.M. of H.O. Lodge,' of. two framed photo{j'raplis.
