CHARLEY'S AUNT CLUB AT, LYALL BAY
The members of the Charley's .Aunt. Club ,gave.~"a.. successful, concert,..in,, th»., Anglican Church Hall, Lyall Bay, last. evening in aid of the Church Building Fund.' There was'a large and appreciative audience, who were well rewarded" for their patronage by a> programme of iniisical, elocutionary, and humorous items, and the committee has great reason to be proud of its efforts. The artists are also to be congratulated upoi their performance. Conspicuous among them were^ Miss .Dargaville,,Miss Read, ; Mr. Norman Aitken, Mr. Syd~Tingey,' ,an,d Mr. Wilkinson; The ..accompaniments were '.ably played. by, ; .Mr«.;,lE. Tracey. Others to contribute items wereMiss Shotlander, ■ Mr. S. BoocK, :Mr. Phipps, Williams, Mr. L. ■WV. Hanlon," and little Vera'Houston, who" sang"'a' character son'? in dostume, "Little Baggy Breeches." '' A dramatic scene from' Conan Doyle's famous play,, "Sherlock Holmea," was'dramatically given by Mr. Syd. Tingey; (as Sherlock Holmes) and. .Mr. ■Norman, Ailken (as Professor Moriarty). The Eev. J. H. Sykes during the interval thanked the performers for, :thflit services,. also the public for their patronage. : ,
