Bicycles fitted with floats aro becoming very popular on the Marne, near Paris, whore city dwellers who have never learnt to row are able, to hiro these machines and pedal them up and down the river When the machine is ridden in the water the surface of the water is about level with the rider's armpits. Thus bathers who cannot swim nevertheless enjoy the pleasures of motion in us well as on tho water.
