SLIP IN MANAWATU GORGE

PALMERSTON N., 6th August. A slip .in the Manawatu Gorge last night held up the slow train from Napier to Palmerston North, which is due at 10.30' p.m. A relief train was despatched from here. The passengers were transhipped and arrived at 3 a,in. The same procedure Was adopted with regard to the express passengers to-day > The line v expected to be clear to-night.
